Red Lions win all of their matches

The Red Lions won all of their Twenty20 matches last weekend. Besides Trevor Gripper, Douglas Marillier, Lance Malloch-Brown and Barney Rogers it is believed that Campbell Macmillan and Stephen Marillier also played for the Red Lions.

The feeling is that many of the former players would be interested in an official return to cricket.

Campbell to head Cricket Committee

Alistair Campbell will head the new Cricket Committee. The committee oversees parts of cricket including fixturing and contracting at domestic and international level. Joining him on the committee will be Andy Waller, Stanley Staddon, Jackie du Preez, Tavengwa Mukuhlani, Walter Chawaguta and Dirk Viljoen.

Zim could play Afghanistan this month

ZC has said to Cricinfo that there is a chance of Zimbabwe playing Afghanistan in a four day Intercontinental Cup match. If it goes ahead it is likely to start on July 30.

ZC to reintroduce awards

Prosper Utseya, Tawanda Mupariwa, Ray Price and Hamilton Masakadza are the nominees for the Zimbabwe Cricket awards. The winner will be announced on August 5 along with the franchise names and squad for the Bangladesh series. There will be several award categories - the awards committee consisted of administrators, selectors and media personnel.
