Maregwede, Alester
Major Teams Represented: Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Provinces, Takashinga
Born: 1981
A very talented wicket-keeper batsman who has been forced out of the national team due to the rise of Brendan Taylor and the return of Tatenda Taibu. After Tino Mawayo's successful 2007 Logan Cup campaign, Maregwede is now, at best, the 4th choice wicket keeper. Apart from the occasional appearance for Zimbabwe A, he is now strictly a domestic player. Having made his debut in 1997, this makes him the most experienced non-international player on the domestic scene. He averages less than 25 in First Class cricket, and his only hope of returning to the national team is if he starts scoring runs as a specialist batsman.
Club (2007): Takashinga
