Information about matches from week 2 of the Vigne Cup.

Uprising vs Old Malvernians

Robertson Chinyengetere again led from the front with an important unbeaten 33 chasing a target of 124 against Old Malvernians. Old Malvernians struggled with the bat, being all out for 123. D. Kamundati and N. Nhau each offered some resistance, with 30 and 26 respectively, but former Zimbabwe A allrounder Innocent Chinyoka ensured that this would not last with 4/26. Uprising reached their target with 6 wickets in hand. Northerns lower order batsman Cephas Zhuwawo was the pick of the bowlers with 1/21.

Uprising 2 vs Eagles

In the second division of the Vigne Cup, Uprising 2 - despite being 3 player short - comfortably saw off the Eagles. Uprising were all out 6/214 from 31.5 overs, with captain Joseph Madyembwa top scoring with 41. Tino Mafusire added 40, while Prince Edward student Peacemore Zimwa added 30. K. Manyede was the Eagles leading wicket taker with 2/16.

But it was the Eagles batting that let them town, with only a player by the name of Wilbert offering some resistance with an unbeaten 35. Ronald Mutopo bowled superbly, taking 8/40, complemented by 1/36 from Madyembwa.
