Sri Lanka have warned the hosts that they will be fielding the strongest A side possible for their 5 match tour of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe's new coach, Robin Brown, is confident the team can continue the good run of form that has extended through the recent South Africa tour of Zimbabwe and the ICC World Twenty20.

"Preparations are in full swing and the boys are working very hard in camp ahead of the Sri Lanka A tour. At the moment, we are just fine-tuning on the batting and bowling technique and the level of commitment being shown by the guys is absolutely amazing,” Brown told zimcricket.org.

“The team is raring to go and I am extremely confident that the outstanding performance in South Africa at the Twenty20 World Cup will spill over into this next assignment. We still have another week of intensive training before the Sri Lanka A side arrives. By then we will be just about ready."

Brown also told the website that the loss of Masakadza for upwards of 6 weeks was a massive setback, but hinted that Sean Williams, who has recently come back from injury, would be a like-for-like replacement.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe A will take on South African provincial team, Gauteng, between October 11 and October 13 at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
