Cricinfo have reported that 32 year old national team bowler Gary Brent, and 26 year old former captain Terrence Duffin, have both quit cricket in Zimbabwe.

The report states that Brent and Duffin have quit for the following reasons respectively:

As it turns out, Duffin went to England anyway and is currently playing the Winsley cricket club. He is believed to be contemplating travelling to New Zealand at the end of the English season, rather than returning to Zimbabwe.

There is no word on what Gary Brent, who played his last match two weeks ago for Northerns and took 8/44 overall, will be doing next. It is possible that he will continue to play club cricket locally for Harare Sports Club.

The departure of Gary Brent leaves Raymond Price as the only Zimbabwean player of the age of 30. It is expected that Tawanda Mupariwa will be Brent's replacement in the national bowling attack.

UPDATE: Gary Brent has announced that he is leaving on happy terms. Lovemore Banda, ZC media manager, has confirmed that both Brent and Duffin have retired.
