Westerns province have recently announced their squad for the upcoming Logan Cup First Class tournament, Faithwear Cup one-day series and the Metropolitan Bank Twenty20 series. The squad, notably missing Tinashe Hove who was also dropped by Bulawayo Athletic Club for the National League final, has recently been training at Queens Sports Club under coach Chris Phiri.

Most of the players took part in last years domestic fixtures, although good news for Westerns is that former Zimbabwe A bowler Bradley Staddon has again made himself available selection.

Westerns would be feeling confident of good performances this season under likely captain Gregory Strydom after outstanding National League performances from in-form allrounder Freedom Takarusenga and batsman Matthew Williams.

All eyes will be on Khawulani Ntuli who has been earmarked as a potential fast bowling candidate for the national team alongside Edward Rainsford who is expected to play for Centrals again this year.

National players are not included in the preliminary squad. Additions are likely to be Christopher Mpofu, Tawanda Mupariwa, Keith Dabengwa and Sean Williams.
