Information about Bangladesh's tour of Zimbabwe is released.

Bangladesh tour dates announced

Bangladesh will be touring Zimbabwe in August and are likely to play 6 matches. All matches will be played in Bulawayo, with 5 ODI's at Queens Sports Club and a warm-up one day match at Bulawayo Athletic Club.

It is unknown yet which Zimbabwean team will take part in the tour match, but is likely to be either Zimbabwe A or Westerns.

Fixtures: (all matches to start at 9:30 am local time)

Fri Aug 07 - Tour match: TBC v Bangladeshis (Bulawayo Athletic Club)

Sun Aug 09 - 1st ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh (Queens Sports Club)
Tue Aug 11 - 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh (Queens Sports Club)
Fri Aug 14 - 3rd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh (Queens Sports Club)
Sun Aug 16 - 4th ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh (Queens Sports Club)
Tue Aug 18 - 5th ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh (Queens Sports Club)

There has been no word yet as to the make-up of the Zimbabwean squad. Bangladesh have replaced Mohammed Ashraful as captain, with Mashrafe Mortaza to take the job for Bangladesh's tours of West Indies and Zimbabwe. Shakib al Hasan will be vice captain.

Bangladesh have announced a 15 man squad for their upcoming 2-Test series in the West Indies, many of whom will also travel to Zimbabwe afterwards: Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Shakib Al Hasan (vice captain), Tamim Iqbal, Zunaed Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Raqibul Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wicket keeper), Mehrab Hossain Jr., Shahadat Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Mahbubul Alam, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, Enamul Haque Jr., Sahagir Hossain (wicket keeper). It is expected that ODI specialists such as Abdul Razzak, Syed Rasel and Naeem Islam will tour Zimbabwe as well.

Stars turn out for winter cricket in Bulawayo

The winter cricket league in Bulawayo is underway, as revealed by brmtaylor.com several weeks ago. It has now emerged that the club cricket competition is enjoying considerable success with many international players taking part.

Tawanda Mupariwa and Charles Coventry are playing for the Leopards, Christopher Mpofu and Sean Williams are playing for the Cheetahs. The Rhino's would be thrilled to have Heath Streak onboard, as well as Keith Dabengwa and fast bowling sensation Khawulani Ntuli.

Coaching the four teams are Jerry Sullivan (Lions), Trevor Phiri (Rhinos), Stanley Timoni (Leopards) and Pollock Mubhobho (Cheetahs).
