There was Twenty20 action all over Zimbabwe this weekend. In addition to the 4-team Abid Hamid memorial tournament in Harare, cricketers from Bulawayo also got together for their own Twenty20 tournament.

A number of "select" sides have been compiled within the province and will contest matches in the coming weeks. This weekend it was Twenty20, while next weekend it will be 50 over matches before moving on to a series of two day matches.

These local tournaments will act as good preparation for the players ahead of the new franchise system which will be unveiled in the coming months. They will also allow selectors to see the talent on offer around the country.
