Having been on the First Class scene for several years, originally for Matabeleland, Kusano was one of the Westerns experienced hands during the 2007 domestic season. He is a good lower order batsman in the longer form of the game, but has been an ineffective batsman in the one-day matches. Bowling right arm medium pace is his strong suit, and he has a bowling average in the low 30's in both forms of the game. He has a very good economy rate in one-day cricket, of just above 4 runs an over.
