Zhuwawo had little success at First Class level in 2007, although as the year progressed he had better performances. In a club match he scored a half century, and he made 42 against the touring Sri Lankan A side. In a good allround performance that much, he also took 4/45. Only in his early 20's, time is on his side as far as national selection goes, although he will need to be more consistent and perform well in the Logan Cup. He is a solid performer for his club side, Old Malvernians.
In October 2008 he made his Twenty20 International and ODI debuts for Zimbabwe as a pinch hitter opener with limited success.
Zhuwawo is most likely an indigenised version of Portuguese name Joao, suggesting his family has roots in Mozambique.
